JESSORE: Police picked up five Jamaat-Shibir activists from a procession from the town on Monday evening.

The arrested are Jahidul Islam, Jahidur Rahman, Sirajul Islam, Monirul Islam and Wahiduzzaman.

Police said Jamaat-Shibir activists brought out a procession protesting the arrest of their top three leaders.

When protesters reached near Manihar Cinema Hall police charged baton on them and detained five activists.

OC of Kotowali Model Thana Moazzem Hossain said the arrested were intercepting police activities and involved in seditious activities.
