RAJBARI: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday categorically said her party would start fresh movement to topple down the Awami League government immediately after completion of upazila parishad elections.
“Ruling Awami League government does not believe in democracy as it is autocrat,” she said.
She came up with the observation while addressing a mass rally here in the afternoon demanding cancellation of unilateral elections and holding fair and participatory elections.
Khaleda Zia also claimed that the incumbent government is “illegal”. “You have to oust the government though movement,” she said.
Terming AL a vampire, she alleged that bodies are found in different places and there in no human rights in the country.
She added: “It has been proved that the Awami League government has lost ground under its feet.”
Calling upon the people to weigh a movement in ousting the government, the former premier said, “If the government does not quit, the people will be compel to do that through a movement.”
The BNP chief also said the Padma Bridge would be built on Paturia-Daulatdia if her party assumes power.
She also expressed regret as she could come here after fixing schedule several times.
The former premier of the country thanked the people of the district for huge gathering.
