A Dhaka court today framed charges against former Dhaka City South Jubo League president Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and his associate Enamul Haque Arman in a narcotics case filed at Ramna Police Station.

Judge Mohammad Saifur Rahman Majumder of Dhaka 7th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court passed the order after a hearing on the matters.

The court also issued arrest warrants against the two, cancelling their bail and time petitions. 

Samrat and Arman were arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on October 6, 2019, from Chauddagram upazila in Cumilla. 

They were initially charged under the Arms Act and Narcotics Control Act. A charge sheet was submitted by RAB on December 9, 2020.

This comes after another court, on January 28, framed charges against Samrat in a separate arms case, canceling his bail and issuing an arrest warrant.
