Former Awami League MP from the Habiganj-2 constituency, Md Abdul Majid Khan, was arrested on Monday night in Dhaka's Farmgate area. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the matter.

Abdul Majid faces charges in connection with a murder case involving the deaths of nine individuals during the anti-discrimination student movement in Habiganj's Baniachong upazila on August 5. 

Police also revealed that Abdul Majid is listed as the third accused in the Ripon Shil murder case, which occurred during the same movement in Habiganj.
