A new political party named Bangladesh Tariqat Party (BTP) was launched today (September 21) at the National Press Club in Dhaka. Mohammad Hasan Ali Chishti has been announced as the party’s president, while Syed Md. Masud Rana will serve as secretary general.
At the founding event, party leaders outlined 37 goals and objectives, including the establishment of full democracy, safeguarding independence and sovereignty, upholding the spirit of the Liberation War, and preserving the ideals of the July 24 movement.
Other priorities include eliminating irregularities in all sectors of society, ensuring religious freedom and security for all faiths, addressing unemployment through merit-based opportunities, strengthening rural infrastructure, developing agriculture with modern technology, ensuring farmers’ rights and fair prices, and providing subsidies to the sector.
The party also pledged to ensure judicial independence, freedom of the press, protection of journalists, reforms in education, promotion of women’s education, improvements in transport and communication, strengthening the defense sector with modern technology, fostering cultural and sporting activities, supporting the underprivileged, and establishing a welfare-oriented state that guarantees fundamental rights for all citizens.
