BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman on Sunday (February 16) blamed Awami League for undermining people’s rights through “mock elections” and “fascist dictatorship.”
He made the remark while speaking virtually as the chief guest in Narsingdi at party’s district conference held at Narsingdi Government High School ground.
The event was presided over by district BNP president Jahangir Alam.
At this time, Tarique Rahman underscored the need for the restoration of people's rights, including the right to vote, freedom of speech, and political participation.
He said that the removal of the fascist regime was a result of public resistance, and now is the time to rebuild the nation.
Tarique Rahman said that BNP aims to bring back the rights of the people by introducing a 31-point reform plan and reaching out to the public.
He also underscored that the party has always stood by the people in times of crisis.
He criticized the past 15 years of governance, calling it a period of destruction, and stressed that the responsibility to rebuild the country now lies with BNP.
In the end Tarique Rahman stressed the importance of laying a strong foundation for future generations to thrive.
