DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said BNP is fighting for the rights of the county’s people not for assuming power.
“BNP is fighting for people. It wants to reflect people’s light of hope. So, our struggle for people’s interest and it is the movement to protect rights of people,” he said.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the observation while addressing a function at the National Press Club.
Sangskritik Academy organized the programme on the publication ceremony of ‘Ami Amar Bichhar Chai’ written by poet Mahmudul Hasan Nizami.
He claimed, in the recent upazila polls, people rejected Awami League candidates in most of the upazilas. “It proves that mass people don’t want ruling Awami League,” he said.
