Khaleda condemns Mosharraf’s arrest

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed concern and condemned the arrest of its standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain.

Expressing the condemnation, BNP issued a written statement signed by BNP Joint Secretary General and Office Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Wednesday night.

The former Prime Minister alleged that the arrest was made at the illegal government’s behest.

She also said that the allegation of money laundering against Khandaker Mosharraf is false.

Khaleda Zia further said that the government is practicing it’s autocratic attitude in the country. Panic is prevailing across the country for crossfire, murder, abduction and false cases in the present tenure of this government.

Khaleda also demanded immediate release of Khandaker Mosharraf.

However, the senior party leader of BNP was nabbed by ACC and Gulshan Thana Police from his Gulshan residence on Wednesday night for his alleged involvement in laundering money.
