DHAKA: A Dhaka court sent three BNP leaders including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to jail in three cases filed for killing people by torching bus at Paribagh and so on.

The two other leaders are Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas and Dhaka City BNP member secretary Abdus Salam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud passed the order rejecting their bail petitions after hearing on Sunday.

Earlier in the morning, the three BNP leaders surrendered before the chief metropolitan magistrate court and sought bail.

Earlier, Fakhrul was granted an 8-week bail by the High Court but the appellate division canceled the High Court order that granted bail to him. So, the BNP leader surrendered before the CMM court Sunday and sought bail again.
