DHAKA: BNP will stage demonstrations across the country on Monday in protest against the sending of its three senior leaders to jail by a court.
Joint secretary general of the party Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed announced the fresh protest program on Sunday after the court order.
Rizvi said, as a part of the protest against the court order to send the BNP leaders to jail, the party will arrange agitation rallies across the country.
Earlier in the day, the court sent Mirza Fakhrul, Mirza Abbas and Abdus Salam to jail in three cases including the killing of three people by setting a public bus on fire in city’s Paribagh area.
Of the accused, Mirza Abbas is a defendant of all the three cases while Mirza Fakhrul is of the murder case and Abdus Salam is of another case.
