RAJSHAHI: A Rajshahi court on Tuesday sent BNP Joint Secretary General Mizanur Rahman Minu, also former mayor of the city, to jail in an OC murder attempt case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Biswanath Mandol passed the order rejecting bail plea in the case on charge of opening fire at Khan Mohammad Shahriar, Officer-in-Charge of Boalia Model Thana.

On June 04, 2011, Minu and City Mayor Bulbul along with some 250-300 leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat were sued for a crude attack that left OC Shahriar bullet wounded.

Later, Boalia Thana SI Rafiqul Islam filed a case in this connection with the thana against 119 people and 11 more people were included in the case.

On February 3, police submitted charge sheet against them.
