A Manikganj court today placed former Member of Parliament and renowned singer Momtaz Begum on a six-day remand in two separate cases.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Ivy Akter granted a two-day remand in a murder case filed with Singair Police Station, while Senior Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abdun Nur granted a four-day remand in another case filed with Harirampur Police Station.
Momtaz was produced before the court after completing a previous four-day remand in the same cases.
She had been held at Kashimpur Jail following her arrest by the Detective Branch (DB) of Police from Dhaka's Dhanmondi area on Monday night (May 19) in connection with multiple cases linked to the July-August mass uprising.
