A delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) started meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Saturday night (May 24) to discuss the ongoing political situation in Bangladesh.
The delegation led by senior leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain reached the State Guest House Jamuna in the capital at 7:30 pm.
Other members of the delegation are BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed.
The talks are seen as part of a broader effort by the interim administration to engage political stakeholders ahead of the upcoming polls.
Chief Adviser Yunus is also scheduled to hold discussions later tonight with representatives of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP), according to officials.
The NCP delegation, led by its convener Nahid Islam, is expected to attend the meeting, following a formal invitation from the interim government.
