Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) for the southern region, warned that any obstruction to government reform efforts will be strongly resisted.
He also urged everyone to support the government and its reform programmes.
Hasnat Abdullah made the remarks on Monday (May 26) morning, while speaking to journalists at a gathering in front of Biplob Udyan in Soloshahar before beginning his organisational tour of north Chattogram.
“If you have any concerns or comments about the reforms, address them through discussion,” he said.
He warned, “But if you try to hold the government hostage, the consequences will not be good. You did not have the courage to question the fascist regime in the past.”
Referring to the ongoing protests at the Secretariat, Hasnat said, “If government officials now threaten or obstruct reforms, the people will find alternatives.”
