BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Monday said that the country is heading towards a major change as autocracy is on the way out.
Speaking at a discussion marking the 126th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, held at the National Press Club and organized by Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal, he said, “The country is going through a major transition. After the autocratic regime flees, the country will embrace a new transformation.”
He stressed the importance of determining how the nation’s culture will progress in the coming days, saying, “We must define and promote our own cultural identity.”
Amir Khasru also mentioned that BNP has planned a new initiative called the “Creative Industry Project,” which aims to bring all forms of Bangladeshi culture — including folk and Baul songs — into the mainstream.
