Former Barishal-5 lawmaker and city Awami League vice-president Zebunnesa Afroz has been shown arrested in three more cases on Tuesday (June 17).

She was produced before a Barishal court from the district jail in the afternoon. Police submitted an appeal seeking to show her arrested in the three new cases, which the court granted before sending her back to jail.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said Zebunnesa Afroz was already in jail in connection with two cases. On Tuesday, she was shown arrested in three more cases, including one over a murder charge.

With these, she is now facing arrest in five cases in total and remains in custody at Barishal Central Jail.
