National Citizens’ Party (NCP) has reiterated that it will not compromise on core reforms before the next general election.
He said that the interim government must not appear weak in carrying out its responsibilities
NCP’s Northern Region Chief Coordinator Sarjis Alam made these remarks while addressing a coordination meeting organised by Jatiya Juboshokti (National Youth Force), Panchagarh District unit, held on Monday evening at the hall room of Panchagarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“We don’t want to see the interim government as weak. There will be no compromise on fundamental reforms before the election. There will also be no compromise on ensuring justice for the killers, or on announcing the July Declaration within July,” Sarjis said.
He warned that if the interim government portrays itself as weak, it would be the biggest betrayal of the bloodshed that led to the mass uprising. he added.
Sarjis also accused past regimes of misuse of power, particularly mentioning the Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League.
