BHOLA: At least 10 people were injured in clashes over barring the voters to cast ballots and taking control of a polling center in Daulatkhan upazila of the district in the 4th phase of the upazila election.

Details of the injured could not be known immediately.

Supporters of the Awami League-backed and the independent candidates locked into clashes at Fakirbari Government Primary School polling center around 9:00am. Chases and counter-chases took place between two rival groups.

Being informed, police and Border Guard Bangladesh personnel rushed in and took control over the situation.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, district Superintendent of Police Mohannad Moniruzzaman said “The situation remains normal now.”

Voting at three upazilas of the district – Daulatkhan, Tajumuddin and Monpura – began at 8:00am and will continue till 4:00pm without any break.
