DHAKA: Election Commission (EC) is set to announce the schedule for two reserved seats in the National Parliament on Tuesday.

EC sources informed banglanews that voting will be held there from 8:00am to 4:00pm on April 17.

The deadline of submission of nomination papers is April 1 while the nomination papers will be scrutinized on the next day.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations by April 9, source added.

Earlier, 48 of the 50 seats for women candidates were elected unopposed.

Sources said that a gazette was published on March 20 with the winning candidates.

The Election Commission cancelled nominations of Awami League-backed candidate Sabiha Nahar Begum and Jatiya Party-backed Khorshed Ara Haque due to bill defaults.
