‘Historical revenge to be taken’

DHAKA: BNP joint-secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed threatened the government to take historical revenge with the support of people if the irrespective torture, killings, attacks and forced disappearances are not stopped.

The BNP leader told media at a press conference on Thursday noon at BNP headquarters in city’s Naya Paltan area.

Rizve said the government is conducting a campaign of attacks, murders, forced disappearances and capture poll centers across the country on the occasion of ongoing upazila elections.

The ruling party is trying to hold state power by force, he added.

The nationalist force will take a historic revenge against the oppressors with the support of general people, Rizvi added.

According to him, Awami League is misguiding people in the name of independence and liberation war.

He said that AL does not believe in independence as well democracy.

He blamed that Election Commission is working as a sub-servant of the government.

Among others, Kishoreganj district BNP president, also former student leader Advocate Fazlur Rahman, BNP leaders Kazi Asaduzzaman, Abdul Latif Jony and Asadul Karim Shahin were present at the conference.
