DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is likely to hold long march to the Teesta River and rallies demanding fair sharing of the river’s water between Bangladesh and India, said sources of the party.
The matters were given importance at a BNP Standing Committee’s meeting held at the party chairperson Khleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the city on Wednesday night.
The meeting began at 9:00pm and continued till 10:00pm.
Other issues related to the Dhaka city BNP unit committee and the party’s strategies on anti-government movement and High Court’s summon on Gayeshwar Chandra Roy were also discussed.
With the party chief in the chair, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Lieutenant General (retrd) Mahbubur Rahman, Dr RA Goni, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Barrister Rafiqueuddin Mian, Dr Sbdul Moin Khan, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, among others, attended the meeting.
