RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY: Rajshahi University Chhatra League unit burnt effigy of BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday noon over raising question about the legality of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Earlier, they brought out a protest procession in this connection which started from the university main gate and ended to the Kajla gate parading Dhaka-Rajshahi highway.

There, they held a short rally, which was addressed by BCL RU Unit’s President Mizanur Rahman Rana, Vice- President Rana Chowdhury and Rashedul Islam Ranju, among others.

Speakers said making the heinous lie about Bangabandhu, BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman proves that he doesn’t believe in the independence of Bangladesh.

They demanded exemplary punishment of Tarique Rahman, also to declare him persona non grata in the country.

After the meeting, Chhatra League burnt BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman’s effigy at the university’s TukiTaki Chattar.
