DHAKA: Recently appointed secretary general of Jatiya Party (JP) Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu categorically said he was made as secretary general by the order of party’s chairman HM Ershad, not under anyone’s pressure.

He claimed this in a press briefing at his Gulshan residence on Friday morning.

Bablu said, “Party’s chairman appointed me as secretary general because he thought me worthy… not under anyone’s pressure. I will work under the directions of Ershad and Raushan Ershad.”

He also said that he not only would organize the party but also will try to take it nearer to assuming power.”

On Thursday evening, letters issued to the mass media which said instead of Ruhul Amin Hawlader, party’s presidium member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, henceforth, will perform the responsibilities of secretary general.
