BNP vows to continue movement

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP) vowed to continue their movement till getting due share of Teesta River water from India.

Party’s standing committee member Lieutenant General (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman came up with the observation at a human chain at National Press Club on Friday.

Oikko Parishad formed the human chain demanding release of BNP Standing Committee Member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Joint Secretary-General Aman Ullah Aman and other leaders and activists of the party.

Mahbubur Rahman said: “We staged demonstration and long march on demand of getting due share of Teesta water from India. Our protest movement will be continued till our demands are met.”

He also criticized the government saying the government should be more cautious for the sake of own country rather keeping good relation with neighboring country.

The president of Oikko Parishad Major (Retd) M Hanif chaired the human chain and rally where other senior leaders were also present.
