DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir demanded immediate resignation of the government bringing allegation that Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was involved in sensational Narayanganj 7-murders.
He came up with this demand on Wednesday while talking to journalists after a joint meeting, organized on occasion of 33th death anniversary of party’s founder chairman Ziaur Rahman, at its central office in Nayapaltan of the capital.
Mirza Fakhrul alleged that in the briefing, there is rumor that, a minister’s son of the ruling Awami League is involved with the killings.
“By closing three law-enforcer officials the government has admitted that RAB members were involved at this incident-- so the government should resign,” he said there.
BNP acting secretary general told there the government is using RAB against people, while it was formed to ensure people’s lives.
He added that people have no more confident on this fascist government.
Among others BNP Chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu, joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Mohammad Shahjahan, BNP organizing secretary Golam Akbar Khandaker, finance secretary Abdus Salam, education affairs secretary Khairul Kabir Khokan, Jubo Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, Swechhasebak Dal associate general secretary Mir Sharafat Ali were present there.
On Wednesday last, Narayanganj City Corporation Councilor Nazrul Islam, senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar and five others were found dead floating on River Shitalkkhya after 3-day of abduction.
