DHAKA: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 Sunday deferred the prosecution argument in the war crimes case against Brahmanbaria Awami League leader Mobarak Hossain till May 18.
A three-member of tribunal led-by ICT-1 chairman M Enayetur Rahim re-fixed the date after Mobarak’s lawyer Advocate Tajul Islam filed a time petition.
On April 17, the tribunal fixed May 11 (Sunday) for the beginning of the placing arguments by the prosecution in the case.
Mobarak is facing five charges for his alleged involvement in war crimes, including killing, detention, torturing, and kidnapping, committed during the War of Independence in 1971.
