DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader Tuesday forewarned that stern action would be taken if excessive fare is taken from home bound people during Eid.
The minister came up with the warning while inaugurating an auto transmission training car at Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) training center at Tejgaon in city around 11:30am.
Indicating BRTC officials and bus owners, Obaidul Quader said, “Don’t take additional fare from passengers and if you do so then harder steps will be taken.”
He also said that monitoring team will be monitored to check the matter.
Highway Department Secretary MS Siddik and BRTC Chairman Jasim Uddin were present among others.
