DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday claimed that the attack on Hindus in 2001 by his party men was not communal.
The senior leader of the party came up with the claim while addressing an extended-meeting of Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist and Christian Kalyan Trust at Victory Hotel at Nayapaltan as chief guest.
He said, “Awami League leaders and activists have been occupying the Hindus land and houses across the country. They make attack on Hindus in many times. They will have to be resisted. For this, Jatiyatabadi force should be strengthened.”
BNP is working for the betterment of Hindu, Buddhist and Christian across the country. Every sorts of assistant would be provided to them from BNP, he told.
He also criticized Industrial Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Food Minister Quamrul Islam’s comments as where they said on Friday 2001 attack on Hindus was “communal.”
