DHAKA: Main opposition BNP`s Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan Monday asked the Prime Minister to explain as to why the opposition leader Khaleda Zia would have to give undertaking.
“Why should Begum Khaleda Zia give undertaking? Not even a single charge against her could be proved by the Court,” Khan told discussion meeting on `Effect of Prices of Essentials on Education` organized by Shikkhak Karmachari Oikkya Parishad at National Press Club.
Khan’s query came as the Prime Minister on Sunday said the ‘BNP leader Khaleda Zia should give undertaking for her misdeeds.`
Although the cases filed against Awami League leaders and activists including its chief Sheikh Hasina during Caretaker regime were withdrawn, the cases filed against Khaleda Zia and other BNP leaders were not treated equally, he said.
