DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday urged BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to stop the politics of killing general people.
The premier also forwarded her question to Khaleda saying that if politics kills people, what kind of politics it is and being done for whom.
She made the assertion while addressing a documentary screening program on the death of people in sabotages during the ongoing nationwide blockade along with hartals.
The program was held at city’s National Museum auditorium at noon.
The PM mentioned that the prevailing sabotages to slay people reminded her the same acts of barbarism committed in 1975 and grenade attack on 21 August, 2004.
What she (Khaleda Zia) is gaining by carrying out such heinous crimes, cruelty, monstrousness and mass murder, the premier also questioned.
She requested the BNP chief to stop killing people and at the same time urged the nation to step forward in resisting the killings.
The premier went on saying that the government is taking stern action to end this barbarism as well as to protect the common people.
People are catching the saboteurs red handed and handing over them to the police, she added.
She instructed the pro-liberation forces to be united to prevent killing and barbarism.
At the function, burn victims of sabotages and their relatives described their bitter experiences to senior citizens and diplomats of several countries.
