CHAPAI NAWABGANJ: A local activist of ruling Awami League was chopped to death by miscreants in Dhobra Bazar area under Shibganj upazila of the district Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Abul Kalam, 30, son of Abdus Salam of the area.

Police sources said a gang of miscreants chopped Kalam indiscriminately in the area in the afternoon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Shibganj Thana Officer-in-Charge MM Moynul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
