KHULNA: Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif MP said that Khaleda Zia's politics is dead and she would have to spend her rest of life in the prison.

The spokesperson for the party came up with the forewarning while addressing first session of triennial conference of Khulna Awami League at district stadium on Thursday.

Hanif said Khaleda Zia cherished to establish rein of terrorism and militancy in the name of so-called hartal-blockade keeping herself ‘confined dramatically’ at Gulshan office on January 5.

She is taking revenge on people by killing them in petrol bomb attacks as they rejected her call for observing hartal-blockade, the AL lawmaker added.

Indicating to Khaleda Zia, he said, “People have rejected you. They want, murderer like you would immediately be taken to jail. You kill people and civil society stages drama in name of dialogue and it will not be allowed anymore.”

Awami League presidium member Kazi Jafar Ullah inaugurated the conference, with district AL president Sheikh Harunur Rashid in the chair.

The program was also attended by former food minister D Abdur Razzak, organizing secretary BM Mozammel Haque MP and local MPs.

The last council of District Awami League was held on January 17, 2004, where Sheikh Harunur Rashid was elected as president and SM Mostafa Rashidi Suja as general secretary.

In second phase of the council, 218 councilors will elect their new leaders.
