DHAKA: BNP joint-secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed Thursday forewarned the government saying that they would go for tougher movements from March 1 if it does not step down to pave the way to an inclusive general election under non-party caretaker government.
He made the call in a statement issued in the afternoon.
He, in the statement, further said, “We will be compelled to go for tougher movements if the government refuses to abide by mass people’s demands.”
The BNP leader also said the ruling Awami League will be forced to step down like all the autocrats of past that failed to continue their rules.
He also urged the 20-party leaders and activists to continue their programs protesting extrajudicial killings, countrywide kidnaps and filing false cases against opposition leaders and activists.
