No dialogue on foreigners’ call

DHAKA: Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said that no dialogue will be held with ‘inhuman’ BNP as they are ‘killing’ people by hurling petrol bombs in the country.

Even the foreigners’ call for arranging a dialogue with BNP would not be good enough to sit with the party, the minister said.

Quamrul Islam also said that the terrorist acts across the country have decreased. BNP is now looking for an exit from the violent path of Jamaat-Shibir, he added.

BNP has to leave the path of violence if it wants to sustain as a political party. There is no alternative way out for them, Quamrul opined.

The Food Minister was speaking a discussion organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in city on Friday.

Quamrul Islam said that BNP boycotted in January 5 polls as Jamaat-e-Islami could not take part in the election.

However, the violent activities and political unrest created by BNP is intolerable, he added. The minister also alleged that BNP is hiring miscreants to hurl petrol bombs at commoners.

The minister also ruled out possibility of holding dialogue with the ‘terrorists’ and ‘miscreants’.

Quamrul also said that the foreign friends’ push will not be fruitful in dialogue issue.

He also mentioned that the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU) even the country men are in a panic as innocent people are being killed by bomb attacks.

The minister added: “The government has taken such measures against the terrorists, saboteurs and country's enemies who are killing people like IS which take against terrorism in the most advanced countries in the world including the United States.”

Everyone, including the United Nations, understands that the government has chosen the path that takes the developed world to prevent the violence in their countries, he also said.

He also urged everyone for not being panicked due to the turmoil as the government is promised to take necessary steps to bring the situation under control.

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote acting president chaired the program where Awami League leaders, artists, cultural activists were, among others, present at the program.
