DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Police detained four activists of Dhaka University (DU) unit of BNP’s student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) from Central Shaheed Minar and Chankharpool areas in the city on Thursday morning.

DU unit JCD leader Sardar Amirul Islam Sagar told banglanews that some JCD activists brought out a procession from DU central playground to Central Shaheed Minar at 7:30am.

According to Sagar, a group of ruling Awami League’s student and youth wings Chhatra League and Jubo League respectively, chased the JCD men in Shaheed Minar area.

The pro-government activists held one of JCD activist and handed over him to police while law enforcers detained three more JCD activists from Chankharpool area.

Three of them were identified as Asad, Jisan and Mehdi while the name of other detainee could be known immediately.
