Barrister Rafique for referendum

DHAKA: Pro-BNP lawyer Rafique-Ul-Huq said that a referendum on mid-term election is needed to overcome the ongoing political crisis in the country.

He made the comment at a meeting arranged by a canopy organization of several professional groups called Bangladesh Sammilita Peshajibi Parishad at National Press Club on Saturday noon.

Barrister Rafique said that when the opposition is demanding a midterm election, the government is insisting that no election before 2019.

According to him, a referendum is needed on the question of whether the midterm election to be held or not.

He opined that the referendum can solve the existing crisis.

Former president and also Bikalpadhara Bangladesh chief AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury was present as chief guest at the program chaired by journalist leader Ruhul Amin Gazi.
