DHAKA: The High Court (HC) on Thursday approved Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) as a party in the case filed against Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, for concealing wealth information.
The bench of Justice Mohammad Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hasan passed the order after the hearing on the petition to be a party in the case.
ACC lawyer M Khurshid Alam Khan moved for the anti graft commission.
Earlier on Wednesday, Khurshid filed the application to the HC bench.
On September 27, 2007, the ACC filed a case with Kafrul Police Station against Tarique and his wife Zubaida and mother-in-law Iqbalmand Banu for concealing information of properties worth over Tk 4.23 crore in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC earlier.
Later of that year, the HC ordered a stay on the case proceedings following a petition filed by Tarique’s wife.
