DHAKA: A total of 70 aspirant mayor and councilor candidates of Dhaka North city corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South city corporation (DSCC) have collected nomination papers.

The returning officers of DNCC and DSCC confirmed the matter to banglanews Saturday afternoon.

DNCC returning officer M Shah Alam told banglanews that a total of 25 candidates of general councilors, one reserve councilor and two mayor candidates collected nomination papers from the local office.

Moreover, BSCC returning officer Mihir Sarwar Morshed said from the city corporation 41 general councilor candidates and one reserve councilor collected nomination papers.

However, the election commission (EC) will arrange the both city corporations election on April 28.
