MEHERPUR:  Miscreants chopped a former leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) to death at Goal Gram under Gangni Upazila of the district early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Heser Ali, 35, son of BNP leader Sadiman Hossain and former member of Gangni Upazila JCD.

The deceased father Sadiman Hossain told banglanews that miscreants chopped and slit Haser Ali’s throat on his way to crop land around 5:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.

Bamundi Police Camp In-Charge Sub-Inspector Susanta Kumar Paul said the body bore several injury marks from sharp weapons.

Gangni Thana Officer-in-Charge told banglanews that on information police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
