NARAIL: Police, in overnight drives, arrested 28 accused of different cases, including a local leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from four upazilas of the district.

The detained leader was identified as M Sohel Mollah, 18, president of ward unit Shibir of Kashipur union under Lohagora upazila of the district.

District police control room sources said, in the anti-sabotage drives between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, police detained 14 accused from sadar upazila while five from Lohagora and Naragati each and four from Kalia thanas.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
