DAHKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party-backed mayor candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation Tabith Mohammad Awal made a long list of 83 pledges to build Dhaka as an ‘ideal’ city.

Sorting out the city's problems into 12 main points, Tabith disclosed an 83-point manifesto at a press conference at his Tejgaon election office in the city Thursday.

The 12 points include food, healthcare, education, traffic jam reduction, urban environment management, sustainable development and management, leisure, entertainment and public health, digital service, public protection, facing natural disaster, and urban administration.

Tabith pledged that better treatment and transport will provided to slum dwellers so that they can go different places inside the city.

All information of city administration will be kept on public domains. As a result, people will be aware on it, he claimed.

Announcing the manifesto, the BNP-backed mayoral assistant sought blessings from all for his victory in the poll.

BNP Standing Committee members Moudud Ahmed and pro-BNP civil society platform Adarsha Dhaka Andolan's convener Prof Emajuddin Ahmed,, among others, were also present at the press conference.
