KUSHTIA: Police on a tip-off conducted drives in a madrassa and nabbed 16 activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir as they were in a secrete meeting there on Saturday.

Moreover, explosives were also seized during the drives.

Kushtia additional police super (SP) Sohel Reza told banglanews that on information police conducted the drives at 12:30pm in the day as Shibir activists were in a secrete meeting there to carryout violent activities in the district.

Sixteen Shibir activists were held with explosives, he added.

According to the SP, detailed information will be provided to the media after the interrogation.
