SAVAR: At least 15 people, among 50, received bullet injuries in a clash between two factions of Jubo League at Jamshing area of Savar municipality Sunday evening.

Councilor Minhaj Uddin Molla Mina of Savar municipality, his wife Nargis and son Antar Molla are among the bullet injured.

They were admitted to Enam Medical College and Hospital of Savar.

Locals said there was a long standing clash between local Jubo League convener Selim Mandal and its joint convener Nazrul Islam.

Recently, Minhaz Uddin Molla joined in Jubo League from BNP as a supporter of Selim Mandal group. However, as a result of the long standing clash, around 150/200 activists of the opposite faction attacked Minhaz Uddin Molla.

However, supporters of Minhaz Uddin Molla also attacked Najrul Islam group, they added.

Savar Model Thana assistant superintendent of police (ASP) Sheikh Rasel confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Additional police forces were deployed in the area to thwart any untoward situation, he added.
