DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL)’s publicity and publication affairs secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud demanded action against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia alleging her for spoiling upcoming city poll environment.
The AL leader made the assertion at a press conference held at AL president’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi area Tuesday afternoon.
He claimed that the BNP chief is trying to create anarchy to make the polls controversial.
According to him, the attack on Khaleda Zia polls campaign motorcade on April 21 was an attempt of that kind.
Mentioning BNP-sponsored shutdown and blockades, Dr Hasan said that earlier they made warning about people’s rage against the BNP chief.
It (the protest) may hamper polls environment, he added.
However, Khaleda Zia has been facing protests in her polls campaigns for past couple of days.
