GAZIPUR: Acting BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from Kashimpur Central Jail for routine check-up.

Jailor of Dhaka Central Jail Nasir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews around 9:45am.

He further said this was a routine check-up and he will be brought back to Kashimpur.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is now imprisoned at Dhaka Central Jail Part-2 (Kashimpur).
