DHAKA: Swechchasebok Dal, the volunteer wing of BNP, will stage protest program across the country on Wednesday protesting the charge-sheet submission against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in Jatrabari arson case.

Organization’s office secretary M Akhteeruzzaman Babu Bachchu made the announcement through a press statement issued on Monday.

Press release adds, organization’s central unit president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, general secretary Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu and organizing secretary Shafiul Bari Babu, urged the government to withdraw charge-sheet against Khaleda Zia.

They also urged the government to stop the violation of human rights, arrest, forced disappearance and killing of their leaders and activists.

They also demanded the quitting of the incumbent government from power and arranging of a participatory and credible national election immediately.

According to the release, the organization will arrange a doa mahfil on Tuesday for BNP leader Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu. BNP standing committee member brigadier general (retd) ASM Hannan Shah will present as chief guest at the event.

However, on May 3, Pintu, who was convicted for involvement in the 2009 BDR mutiny, died of cardiac arrest in Rajshahi.
