NOAKHALI: Police on Wednesday recovered body of a slaughtered activist of ruling Awami League’s youth wing Jubo League in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district.

The victim has been identified as Mohammad Akbar (32), son of Hakim Ali, hailed from Karimpur village of Choumuhani municipality area of the upazila.

Locals said that they saw the body of a Jubo League member Akbar lying in a drain near Karimpur Government Primary School and then informed police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Begumganj Thana sub-inspector (SI) Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury said that they are looking into the matter.
