DHAKA: A council to elect new leader for Dhaka North City (DNC) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of ruling Awami League (AL), will be held on Thursday.

The council is scheduled to begin at Kalabagan playground in city at 11:00am on the day.

Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed and also AL advisory council member Tofail Ahmed will be present as chief guest at the program, to be chaired by BCL president HM Badiuzzaman Sohag.

AL leaders Advocate Sahara Khatun MP, Jahangir Kabir Nanak MP, Sheikh Fazle Nur Tapas MP, Kamal Ahmed Majumder MP and Aslamul Haque MP, among others, will be present as special guests.

BCL general secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam will deliver speech.

However, the last council was held in June in 2011.
