CHITTAGONG: Police, in overnight drives, arrested 88 people, including three activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir, from different places of the port city on Friday.

However, the law enforcers recovered 110 pieces of Yaba tablets and 20 liters foreign made liquor during the drives.

District Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Mohammad Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Among the arrestees, one is activist of Jamaat-e-Islami and two are leaders and activists Chhatra Shibir. They are accused in cases filed under Sabotage Act.

Of the total arrestees, 14 persons were accused in regular cases while 71 others were warranted.
