JHENAIDAH: Police arrested the Kotchandpur Upazila vice chairman Moabia Hossain, 55, of the district on Friday night.

Moabia Hossain, son of late Mohammad Ali of Bon Bibhag Para of district town, is also the general secretary of the upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Police sources said, tipped-off, police nabbed the Jamaat leader around 11:00pm from Balabari area where Jamaat men were holding a secret meeting to plan for carrying out sabotage.

Kotchandpur Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Ahmmed Kabir confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The Jamaat leader was an accused in sabotage case and was set to produce before the court on Tuesday, the OC said.
